UNITED KINGDOM:  London deemed the most expensive city in Europe for a middle market family home

New research shows that London three times more costly than other British cities and is the most expensive in Europe for renting middle market three bedroom home.  

London costs £5,398 per month compared to other major UK cities which costs £1,427 per month and is approximately £3,693 more expensive than the average monthly cost across the rest of Europe.

For the first time Dublin rental costs have entered the top 10 most expensive in Europe for the first time at £2,688 per month, according to the accommodation report from global mobility experts ECA International.

Manchester, Edinburgh and Glasgow in the UK have shown the largest rent increase, which the research sites is due to high demand for rental properties. However the opposite can be found in Aberdeen where the downturn in the oil and gas industry has resulted in a downturn of 16% in the rental market. 

Similarly Eastern European cities such as Prague and Warsaw and similar major cities have also seen sharp increases in rental prices by almost £2,000 per month as international companies are either setting up or expanding their operations.
