UNITED KINGDOM: Month over month down turn for new tenancies across the UK

In spite of the average rent increases in the UK year on year for the fourth consecutive month, the Homelet index shows that month on month rents for new tenancies fell in October across the UK.

The latest index shows that during October UK rent on new tenancies increased by only 0.9% during October taking the average monthly to £909. however September rise was 2.0% following August 2.4% which indicates a slowdown nationwide.

The biggest declines were felt in the South West (2.9%), followed by the South East (2.4%), Greater London (2.3%) and Northern Ireland (1.7%).
