UNITED STATES: Rental prices remain steady

According to the latest real estate index, rental prices in the US are levelling out while housing prices and value continue to increase, albeit at its slowest pace in 2 years.

Home value prices were increasing rapidly at the beginning of the year but that pace is now slowing, which may be as a consequence of the rental prices cooling since renters are showing less haste to buy.

Rents have declined the most in Portland, Oregon, where the average rent is $1834 per month. The place where rents are increasing the fastest is Riverside, California.

In terms of home value, San Jose is seeing the fastest increase, followed by Las Vegas and Atlanta.
