CANADA: Application period shortened for Express Entry candidates seeking permanent residency

The length of time that successful Express Entry candidates can apply for permanent residency has been shorten by Canada’s Department of Immigration, refugees and Citizenship.  Express Entry candidates that are issued an invitation to apply after 26 June 2018 have 60 days (instead of the previous 90 days) to submit their application for permanent residency.

Individuals who received an invitation to apply before 26 June will still have 90 days to apply for permanent residency.

How does this affect the client?

Express entry profiles do not need to be updated, however individuals should be aware of the shortened deadline to apply for permanent residency if they are selected in a draw.
