INDIA: Registration of biometric data mandatory for South-African visa applications

Effective 17 July, South-African nationals applying for all types of visas for India are required to register their biometric data at one of the application centres. Applicants will be fingerprinted and photographed at the visa centres in Durban, Johannesburg or Cape Town after completing their online application. Holders of e-visas are however required to submit their data on arrival at any Indian airport.

How does this affect the client?

South-African nationals traveling to India should to be aware of these changes when applying for employment and business visas. Applicants under the age of 12 or over the age of 70 are exempt from the new biometric data requirement.
