ITALY: Border checks now executed for G7 summit

Starting now, border checks are implemented at points of entry as a security measure in preparation of the G7 summit in Taormina on 26 and 27 May.

Through to 30 May, border checks are expected to be a cause of delays for travellers planning to enter Italy. Proper ID and travel documents are essential for entering the country during this period as per the temporarily suspended Schengen Area rules.

Border checks are expected to be lifted on 31 May.

How does this affect the client?

Travelers must prepare for possible delays when planning to enter Italy, following border checks.
