NIGERIA: Visa fees on arrival must be paid electronically

The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced that as of now it is no longer possible to pay by cash at any federal airport in Nigeria.

Travellers arriving at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport and the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport who require visa on arrival will now have to pay the governmental fees electronically. This action has been taken in order to reduce corruption and to increase efficiency.

How does this affect the client?

Foreign nationals travelling to Nigeria must be notified and be able to pay the governmental visa fees electronically. The fees can be paid with a debit card upon arrival or via the Nigerian government website prior to arrival.
