SINGAPORE: Higher Minimum Salary for ‘S Pass’ Applicants

From 1 January 2019, the minimum qualifying salary for the ‘S Pass’ will be increased from SGD 2200 to SGD 2300.

Expiring passes

  • Employees whose existing S Passes expire between 1 January and 30 June 2019, can renew for up to one year under the pre-2019 salary requirement.
  • Employees whose existing S Passes expire from 1 July 2019 onwards can only renew if they meet the new minimum salary requirement.

Fixed monthly allowances can be included in the salary calculation.

The increases are likely to attract more experienced applicants as their salaries are usually higher.

How does it affect the client?

Employers are encouraged to review the salaries of their S Pass holders and make note of the new qualifying salaries for new applicants.
