NIGERIA: Requirement of palletized cargo suspended

The recently revised Nigerian Import Guidelines which required all Nigeria-bound containerized cargo to be palletized has been suspended indefinitely. The law has been strongly contested and port authorities are hoping for it to be cancelled altogether.

How Does This Affect the Client?

As the enforcement of using lift vans on all Nigerian inbound shipments has been cancelled the previous procedures apply again. Goods no longer need to be placed in wooden liftvans and can be loaded loose inside the container which means customers can use their entitlements in full again.
