FRANCE: New APS residence permits for Talent Passport holders with three-month D visas

Previously, Talent Passport (passport talentholders in possession of a three-month D visa were issued a residence permit receipt (récépissé) as proof that their residence permit application was pending. The problem with this was the receipt would not allow re-entry into France during travel, which limited employees in their duties.

The French government, however, has changed their procedure, now issuing APS residence permits (Autorisation Provisoire de Séjour) for Talent Passport holders with three-month D visas. The APS residence permit functions as a six-month temporary residence permit that allows its holder to travel internationally.

How does this affect the client?

The new procedure will benefit both employee and employers as employees can travel more freely as they await the issuance of their residence permit.
