POLAND: Increased minimum salary level for Blue Card holders

As of 13 February 2018, the minimum monthly salary for Blue Card holders working in Poland has increased by 6 percent from last year. The minimum salary per month is now 6,407.27 PLN.

It is important to note that salaries must also meet the market salary rate for the proposed position. The benefits and allowances of any kind can not be included as part of the minimum salary calculation. Furthermore, employers are required to guarantee the salary in the Polish currency regardless of payroll location and/or exchange rate fluctuations.

How does this affect the client?

Employers wishing to apply for or renew Blue Cards of their employees after 13 February 2018, should be aware of the new requirement and increase the minimum salaries. Applications submitted before 13 February are not effected by the increase. Whenever an application is not meeting the new salary criteria, it will be rejected.
