SOUTH AFRICA: Misplaced residence requests to be resubmitted before July 31

Due to a substantial number of misplaced residence applications (more than 4000), the South African Department of Home Affairs (DHA) has announced that affected expats can resubmit their requests before the end of July. The specific list of misplaced applications has been published by the DHA in the National Government Gazette (No. 40691). New applications should be submitted to the DHA Contact Centre via email.

How does this affect the client?

Due to the approaching deadline for submission, expats who are on the list are advised to take action as soon as possible as applications resubmitted after July 31 will be rejected. Additionally, a valid South African police clearance (no older than 6 months) is required to complete the application.
