THAILAND: New documentation required for Long Term Visa applications

In a bid to prevent submission of falsified tax certifications, as of 1 May 2017 there will be a new document required for both first time applications and renewals of Long Term Visa’s in Thailand.

This new requirement will only apply to applications filed at the One Stop Service Center but will mean that an original receipt from the Revenue Department - for payment received in connection with the certification of relevant tax documents - is required to be submitted.

Employer’s that are registered with the Board of Investments will be excluded from this new requirement.

How does this affect the client?

Employer’s and applicants that are not exempt will have to secure the original receipts from the Revenue Department and take extra care to ensure that they are submitted along with the other documents for Long Term Visa’s applications.
