UNITED KINGDOM: Visas & Immigration begins to charge for emails.

Effective 1 June 2017, UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) imposed a charge on customers who contact them by email.

The email charge of £5.48 applies to those who submit applications from outside the UK, and it includes the first email enquiry and any follow-up emails related to the same enquiry.

Applicants will need to pay the email charge using a credit or debit card.

This initiative is part of wider changes that are being introduced as UKVI outsources the handling of customer enquiries to commercial partner Sitel UK.

There are no changes to services for those contacting UKVI from inside the UK.

How does this affect the client?

The new charge should be taken into account when contacting the centre from outside the UK.
